I went to my Aunt Linda's house yesterday to help work on the baby bedding.
I have to share a little story about my adventure at Aunt Linda's. I think I got to her house around 11am and had to leave around 1:45pm to head to my catering event. My aunt was pretty excited that after many trips to the repair shop her surger machine was finally working. We happened to wander around the house thinking we heard my Uncle Don making noise, to show him the surger progress. As it turned out he had stepped out to run some errands. I did a bit of investigation, as we heard a chirping noise in the house, and I thought maybe it was a smoke detector. Instead I found a baby robin in their living room behind the couch/end table. The bird was sitting pretty still, so I couldn't tell for sure if it was real, but where it was sitting, I was pretty confident it was. I ran to tell my aunt about the bird and she was pretty freaked out, so we locked ourselves in the sewing room. After locking ourselves in, we realized the cat was in the living room, so I ran out to grab the cat so she didn't decide to chase/eat the bird and cause more damage.
I wasn't sure what to do and Linda certainly wasn't interested in capturing the bird, so we tried calling Don a million times so he would rush home and get the bird out. Finally, Uncle Don came home, I went out to help him and he literally just picked up the bird with his hands and I opened the sliding door so he could put the bird outside. Problem solved.
I thought for sure if I tried to get the bird that it would fly around the house or fly at me or something crazy. We aren't exactly sure how the bird got in, but pretty sure my aunt's cat brought the bird in and freaked it out.
Never have I experienced a bird in someones home, so it was quite the entertainment for the afternoon.
