I am generally known to be an extremely clean and organized person. However, somewhere over the course of the last several years I have been collecting so much "stuff" that my organizing skills just somehow manage to overwhelm me and my house isn't as spotless as I would like.
I have a serious shopping habit and tend to spend way too much money on clothes....and of course am constantly cleaning out the closet and giving things away or returning items to the stores, only to go out and buy more and do it all over again.
One thing being pregnant has taught me is that:
a.) I no longer can wear my old clothes (therefore my shopping habit is pretty much out the window).
b.) Pregnancy clothes are expensive and I hate to spend too much money on clothes that I can really only wear for about 7-8 months.
The art of borrowing has been so great and I appreciate all my wonderful family/friends who have loaned or given me items from their closets.
Yesterday I woke up with this extreme urge to completely clean and re-organize my closet, it only took 3.5 hours but the relief I feel from the project is so great!!!
My sister also came over the other day and she helped me completely go through and re-organize my kitchen. Thank you so much Jess, I couldn't have done it without you!
This morning I decided to tackle the office. After two hours of going through paperwork I finally managed to re-file everything and feel so much better about mounds of paperwork being out of the way.
I am not entirely sure if my recent organizing craze has been pregnancy related or something else. However, I must admit that I am feeling so much better and more prepared for our little bundle of joy knowing that if I get put on bed rest or the baby decides to make a super early entrance that I will have my entire focus on the baby isntead of stressing about things around the house.
Plus I am pretty excited to have all these big organizing projects out of the way because now I can put my focus back on my craft projects....hooray! Something about an unorganized house makes me feel un-motivated to make a bigger mess with craft projects.....bring on the scrapbooking and the blanket making!!!

11.5 Week Ultrasound!!

I just got home from my 11.5 week ultrasound appointment. I am quite pleased at the progress of the baby. The measurements are right where they are supposed to be, heart beat is 165 beats per minute. All seems to be going rather well, (even though I was a bit worried that something was wrong - for no apparent reason at all). I guess I have gotten used to having so many ultrasounds that waiting 4 weeks for the next one was torture to me! So I am glad to have new pics of the little jumping bean - the baby was rather active during the ultrasound today, looked like he/she was hiccuping and doing a little "jumping bean" bounce inside me, it was amazing to see!
I go back in 3 weeks for another checkup and ultrasound, I guess that is the benefit to being a high risk pregnancy, you get to check up on your little baby quite often - I feel spoiled!

Fun In Mexico....
My family and I just returned from a lovely vacation at the Secrets Capri Resort in Quintana Roo, just outside of Cancun, Mexico. My step-sister Colleen married Kevin Priest at a beautiful beachside wedding at 5:00pm on Friday May 15, 2009. There were about 40 people at her wedding and those 40 people were the majority of those visiting the resort that week. The resort was practically empty due to the Swine Flu....so it was great to have it all to ourselves. There was tons of water volleyball, sunshine and fun! Below are a few pictures that you can check out and enjoy!
