Jared and I celebrated our 3rd Wedding Anniversary on Wednesday August 26, 2009.
Both of us had to work that day, so once we got home, we went out for a nice dinner at a restaurant called "Dockside" in downtown St. Helens. We had never been to Dockside before, but heard it was pretty good....as it turned out, the food was excellent....so overall it was a great night.
The traditional gift for Anniversary #3 is Leather/Crystal/or Glass....so I got Jared a new leather belt, leather wallet and a glass beer mug. I think he was mostly excited about the new belt (since it replaced the one he has been wearing since we met....and was falling apart).
Here is to another great year!

6 months preggers and camping!!!
Here is a photo of me from this past weekend. We went camping in Mossyrock, Washington with mostly family and a a few friends. The trip started off a bit rough, and rained on....but overall we had a great weekend.

Here is my first page attempt at my pregnancy scrapbook. Keep in mind, I still have to do some writing on the bottom, but otherwise this is the first page to our book.

Just saw my belly wiggle!!
We got home today from a weekend camping trip in Mossyrock, Washington. My mom, sister, aunt and cousin made numerous comments on my ever growing belly all weekend long. Unfortunately (Aunt Jose) also known as my little sister Jessica couldn't work her magic talking to my belly to get our little guy to wiggle for her. She tried so hard all weekend and never really even got to feel him move.
It always seems like when you want the baby to move, they sit still and when you least expect it...they wiggle!
Well, today around 2:15pm I had been sitting on the couch and starting feeling some heavier movement than normal. So I lifted up my shirt to stare at my belly (I am pretty sure most mommies to be do this). ;-) Anyway after staring for a few minutes, my skin was totally wiggling, the baby was going crazy in there. Luckily Jared was sitting next to me, so he got to see and feel him moving around. This is a new landmark in my pregnancy, since I kept waiting to actually see the belly move. I am still so amazed at how incredible it is to see him wiggling around, and I honestly don't think I have ever had a more incredible feeling in my life.
I am in love with pregnancy....such an amazing journey so far. I am 24 weeks and 1 day today.....and can't wait to continue to see movement and experience new things.
In other good news...my sister Jessica called shortly after I saw the little guy move and she has passed her Praxis exam which means she will be starting her Masters program in January at Western Oregon University. So proud of her! Nice work Jess!!!

23.5 Week Ultrasound
Jared and I had my 23.5 week ultrasound this morning.
Cervical length is still measuring nice and long, so doctor's are pleased. Baby Motherway is measuring 5-6 days ahead of schedule so in the 62% percentile for his age. Today he wasn't really cooperating with the ultrasound tech, apparently he is a bit camera shy. The tech even made the table I was lying in rotate so I was practically doing a headstand so the baby would move, and nothing. Today he had his legs and hands literally above his head as if he was kicking himself in the face, he is quite the gymnast. ;-)
After another doctor came in the room to look at things herself, she decided our little guy was doing the and I quote "Playgirl" pose for all of us today. We got quite the shot of his rear and frontal parts....it was pretty funny to hear a doctor say that, so gave Jared and I a good laugh today.
Anyway, all in all things are continuing to go very smoothly with this pregnancy and the baby. I continue to have no real complaints and am feeling great.
The confirmation that he is a boy continues....here is his "Playgirl" photo:
The only quick facial profile shot they could get today:
After our appointment today Jared and I made our way to Babies R' Us to register. That was quite the chore....I was pretty overwhelmed and wiped out afterwards. Honestly, being a new mom, I had no idea what all I was going to need. So if I left things off, I either have already been given that item or just plain forgot it or didn't know I needed it.
Our friends have blessed us with hand-me-down room decor and my Aunt has been gracious enough to make the bedding. Not to mention I have a friend who has given me several tubs of hand-me-down baby clothes and my sister in law is setting us up with hand-me-down baby clothes as well. I can't tell you all how much I appreciate your generosity!!! Thank you all so much!

Halibut Fishing
I don't always have tons of stories to share about Jared....so thought I would share the most recent.
On August 7th Jared drove to Roseburg to spend the weekend fishing with my cousin Jason. They woke up super early on Saturday the 8th to hit the road and put the fishing boat in the ocean. They went out for halibut and crab fishing.....and below is what Jared pulled out of the salty sea. In addition they caught 31 crabs as well....which were quite tasty I might add. Jared had never been fishing in the ocean before, so this was a pretty exciting trip for him.

Baby Room/Bedding Update
Here are the latest pictures of the baby room and bedding. Jared painted the room a few weeks ago. Plus our friends gave us a rocking chair, so all the furniture is mostly complete.
I went to Aunt Linda's yesterday and she had finished the organizer and the bed skirt. We still have window treatment items to make, as well as the crib bumper, etc. I will keep posting updates as we finish the items for the room.
Jared and I still have decor to put up on the walls, but still making decisions......stay tuned:
Crib Organizer.....soooo stinkin cute:

There's a Robin in the House!!!
I went to my Aunt Linda's house yesterday to help work on the baby bedding.
I have to share a little story about my adventure at Aunt Linda's. I think I got to her house around 11am and had to leave around 1:45pm to head to my catering event. My aunt was pretty excited that after many trips to the repair shop her surger machine was finally working. We happened to wander around the house thinking we heard my Uncle Don making noise, to show him the surger progress. As it turned out he had stepped out to run some errands. I did a bit of investigation, as we heard a chirping noise in the house, and I thought maybe it was a smoke detector. Instead I found a baby robin in their living room behind the couch/end table. The bird was sitting pretty still, so I couldn't tell for sure if it was real, but where it was sitting, I was pretty confident it was. I ran to tell my aunt about the bird and she was pretty freaked out, so we locked ourselves in the sewing room. After locking ourselves in, we realized the cat was in the living room, so I ran out to grab the cat so she didn't decide to chase/eat the bird and cause more damage.
I wasn't sure what to do and Linda certainly wasn't interested in capturing the bird, so we tried calling Don a million times so he would rush home and get the bird out. Finally, Uncle Don came home, I went out to help him and he literally just picked up the bird with his hands and I opened the sliding door so he could put the bird outside. Problem solved.
I thought for sure if I tried to get the bird that it would fly around the house or fly at me or something crazy. We aren't exactly sure how the bird got in, but pretty sure my aunt's cat brought the bird in and freaked it out.
Never have I experienced a bird in someones home, so it was quite the entertainment for the afternoon.

23 Week Belly
I don't have tons of new information to share. Jared and I have been keeping pretty busy lately. All is going really well with my pregnancy and I just hit 23 weeks. Yesterday I decided to change my hair color back to something a bit more natural. Pregnancy and prenatals make your hair grow like a weed, so this will help for grow out purposes. We go to the doctor on August 18th for my next ultrasound/appointment, so stay tuned.
One thing I can share is that we are totally struggling on finding a name for our little guy.....so for those of you who have asked, at this point nobody will know the name (not even us) until he is born. ;-) I am sure something incredible will come to us sooner or later, but for now we are still making decisions.
Jared took a bare belly shot for me last night....so here you go:
