Catching up!
As many of you already know, we had our second baby in April. After delivering Lochlan we have been so busy I haven't found the time to do any blog posting. I am going to do my best to start catching up now! Enjoy!

37 Weeks & 4 Days
I had my doctor's appointment yesterday morning. We found out that I am still 4 cm. dilated but have changed from 50% effaced from the night before to 70% effaced. The baby's head is very very low and down in position - getting closer to being ready to make his appearance. The doctor did a membrane sweep to see if he could get things to move along a bit quicker. However, if that works it is supposed to happen within 48 hours. We are pushing 24 so far, and there hasn't been any obvious changes. I am still having contractions, but nothing compared to what I was having when I went in on Wednesday evening.
Now we just play the waiting game until baby #2 arrives. :-)
We are just so excited to meet the little guy and be a family of four.

36 Weeks and 37 Weeks
Last week on Thursday March 17th, I had an appointment with my doctor for the fetal monitoring. All went very well. Afterwards I met with my doctor who checked my cervix and told me I had gone from not being dilated to being 1 cm. dilated. Not much else to report from last week.
Last night however, I began having horrendous contractions at home and decided to call in to labor & delivery. My contractions were about 1-3 minutes apart and getting stronger. After reaching the hospital and being monitored, checked, etc. they found I was 3.5 - 4 cm. dilated and about 50% effaced. However, after an hour and being re-checked there was no change, but the contractions were still very hard and heavy. Again another two hours later, no change.....so I was sent home to see how things progress in a more comfortable environment.
I have an appointment this morning and will hopefully see that things have continued progression and maybe we can get this show on the road. We are very excited to meet the baby and know he will join us when he is good and ready.
Stay tuned....

70th Western Themed Birthday
Since Jared was about 15 or 16 years old he has worked for Jim Wriglesworth as a "ranch hand" out in Sandy. He has become very close to Jim over the years and considers him like a father. Tonight we were heading out to help Jim celebrate his 70th birthday party! We had a blast. The power even went out for about 30 minutes while we were there, and the party was still wonderful.

31 weeks, 3 days (2-10-11)
I had an ultrasound yesterday. All went very well. The baby is measuring at 4 lbs, 3 0z. and is doing very well. He is a constant mover, so it was challenging to get fantastic images.
With as challenging as this pregnancy has been, I am glad that the baby is doing as well as he is. Not too much longer until we get to meet the little fella. :-)

Head, Nose, Basket & Belly Button
Last night we were giving Keegan his bath and asking him questions about his head, nose, ears, and belly button. He still wants to point to our ears when we ask where his are....but for a 13 month old we are super impressed that he is well on his way to learning these things. :-)
Stairs Accident
So daddy had to go away to climbing camp in Astoria on Sunday January 23rd and was scheduled to be gone for a total of ten days. I knew I could manage without him, but wasn't looking forward to being 29+ weeks pregnant and caring for a 13 month old. Not to mention with all the complications I have been having, I was worried I was going to be out of energy really fast. Fortunately my mom and sister came up to hang out with Keegan and I a few of those days to keep us company. We made it thru Sunday January 30th when my worst nightmare in our home came true. We have very steep stairs - 16 steps in total, of which Jared and I have both fallen down (me more often than not).
I made it through my first pregnancy with Keegan and never fell down them, and in fact never managed to fall down them once he was here while carrying him up and down the stairs. However, Sunday night after bath and getting Keegan's diaper and jammies on, he took off with a pair of shoes from the closet in hand and went for the stairs. I hadn't managed to get my preggo self off the floor yet when he was headed for the stairs. At first he ran into our bedroom with his shoes in hand, then immediately turned around as I was rounding the corner to try to put the gate up before he took a dive.
Needless to say I wasn't nearly fast enough! Keegan took a look up at me, then looked down the stairs as he attempted his first step down which resulted in a horrendous "noooooooooo scream" coming from me, and what appeared to be hands free cartwheels from head to toe while I was running as fast as I could down after him. I was hysterical, which probably made the fall much worse for Keegan. He was crying as I managed to grab him around the second stair from the bottom. I swooped him up into my arms to console him all the while hysterical and dialing my mom's phone number for help/advice and maybe even a little consoling for myself.
With daddy still being away, I didn't know what else to do. I ended up texting my neighbor Shelly asking her to come over and help me check Keegan out. I ran to our freezer to pull out a little "cookie monster" boo-boo buddy for Keegan to put on his head or any other injured part of his little body. The wonderful news is I think I was the one more damaged from the incident than Keegan. It was by far my worst mommy moment so far! Keegan was totally fine, in fact never even got any bumps/bruises/etc.
I checked on him every hour or two throughout the night in the case of a concussion, but all was well.
My mom was wonderful and drove out immediately and my two wonderful neighbors Shelly and Katie showed up to help me! Talk about scary!!!
Here is a video of the little man immediately after the incident:

Catching up on posting....
Hi Family/Friends,
I am terribly sorry at how delayed I have been at updating our little family blog. As many know once you have a little one, your time can be very limited. I have clearly been neglecting our blog.
I hope to now have the majority of it caught up and will do my best to push forward with updates/etc. as they come.
Happy New Year to all.....I hope this year has started out wonderfully for everyone.
